Ise Jingu (Geku)

Geku is dedicated to Toyo'uke-no-omikami. The abundantly green precincts of Geku extend over about 89 hectares. Enshrining Toyouke Omikami, this outer sanctuary is dedicated mainly to industry and food, clothing and shelter. This part of the sacred circuit can feel like a relaxing stroll though dappled light under the trees.

Ise Jingu (Naiku)
Contact with Soul of Japan
Naiku is the most venerable sanctuary in Japan. Here is dedicated to Amaterasu-omikami, the ancestral deity of the Imperial family and also the tutelary deity of the nation. When you cross Uji Bridge, the extensive inner shrine precincts of Naiku are marked by a Japanese cypress, which serves as a torii (gateway). The immense grounds, through which the Isuzu River flows, include twelve auxiliary jinjas as well as the main shrine dedicated to Amaterasu-omikami.

Toba Aquarium
Number one in Japan in number of species housed
The facility is one of the world's most significant aquariums that houses the dugong, which became the model for the mermaid legend. With approximately 1,200 species, the aquarium is number one in Japan in the number of species exhibited. Recommended are the daily sea lion and walrus shows and the Project Exhibition featuring bizarre sea creatures!

Ishigami-san
Widely worshipped by members of the local Ama community
Located on the main approach to Shinmei jinja, Ishigami-san is widely worshipped not only by members of the local Ama community but also by visitors from all over Japan as a deity who grants at least one wish for each woman. Ishigami-san was made famous by Ise City-born athlete Mizuki
Noguchi, who wore an amulet from this shrine and won a gold medal in the women’s marathon at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Yokoyama View Point
Look around 64 islands
There is an unbroken view of the Ago Bay, which is famous for its deeply indented coastline. The view of the approximately 64 islands and numerous pearl boats is absolutely incredible.
