Ise Jingu (Naiku)

Naiku is the most venerable sanctuary in Japan. Here is dedicated to Amaterasu-omikami, the ancestral deity of the Imperial family and also the tutelary deity of the nation. When you cross Uji Bridge, the extensive inner shrine precincts of Naiku are marked by a Japanese cypress, which serves as a torii (gateway). The immense grounds, through which the Isuzu River flows, include twelve auxiliary jinjas as well as the main shrine dedicated to Amaterasu-omikami.

Okage Yokocho

A town developed in front of the torii gate of the Ise Jingu Inner Shrine

Oharai-machi is a prosperous town in front of the torii gate of the Ise Jingu Inner Shrine.
The stone-paved street, which stretches about 800 meters along the Isuzu River, is filled with historical buildings and a retro atmosphere typical of Oise-san.
The streets are lined with many souvenir stores and restaurants, and you can enjoy walking around the town after visiting the shrine.
If you go through the Seko alley from Oharai-machi street, you will come to the riverside of the Isuzu River.
A stroll along the Isuzu River while gazing at its clear waters is also recommended.

A Direct Bus Connecting Naiku and Kintetsu Resort Hotels in Ise-Shima—No Transfers Needed!

The Pearl Shuttle is a convenient direct bus service connecting Naiku (Ujibashi Bridge Rotary) to select Ise-Shima Kintetsu Resort Hotels, including Prime Resort Kashikojima, Shima Kanko Hotel, Kashikojima Hojoen, and Hotel Shima Spain Village. The service operates twice daily in each direction and requires advance reservations.

Note: Guests of Hotel Kintetsu Aqua Villa Ise-Shima can transfer to the hotel’s shuttle bus at Kashikojima Station.
