勢乃國屋(おはらい町) Seno Kuniya (Oharaimachi)
Experience the Natural Goodness of Ise’s Famous Kamiyo Mochi and More
Located just a 1-minute walk from Uji Bridge at Ise Jingu, Seno Kuniya offers an extensive range of Ise-Shima souvenirs on the first floor, including the famous Kamiyo Mochi rice cakes, hanging scrolls of Amaterasu Omikami, and pearl products.
On the second floor, the dining area Kamiji-an serves local dishes such as Ise Udon and Tekone Sushi, providing a taste of Ise-Shima’s culinary heritage.
The facility also houses the Utsukushi-kuni Tourism Station, where you can find travel information for Ise, Toba, and Shima.
Traditionally, yomogi (mugwort) was believed to ward off evil spirits, and kusa mochi (mugwort rice cakes) were eaten to drive away misfortune. Seno Kuniya’s Kamiyo Mochi is made using only natural ingredients, free from preservatives and artificial colors. These authentic rice cakes are hand-pounded every morning using traditional techniques, resulting in a refined sweetness that makes them perfect not only for celebrations but also as a snack or souvenir
